Default Highest Core 2 Duo Overclock - 08-22-2006, 08:48 PM

Post a list of overclocks you have achieved or have heard about for the various Core 2 Duo processors now available.

Include the final stable overclock (prime95) and the type of cooling used.

We can then work out which Conroe cpu is the best bang for the buck.

I've gotten my E6300 to 3080mhz so far:
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=114560

Not very impressive as C2D oc's go, but I'm very pleased with it. I think it could go 3.3ghz max stable. Bought for £119.98 (inc VAT) off ebuyer.com.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro heatsink used, which reportedly idles at 21c according to the BIOS. How can that be right?

Intel Conroe E6300

Gigabyte DS3

Radeon x1800xt 256mb

The low idle temps are correct as the processor frequency can be dialled down......I think.....or is this just a AMD feature??

Ill post them when i get a decent bios revision/motherboard

best so far was 3.6 (400mhz FSB on an E6600) but that wasnt prime stable (well for 6s it was on core 2 lol), then i updated the bios and it all went downhill........

Its generally the motherboards as a whole, they dont like the higher multipliers on the cpu's

and 1.7.....that really is a suicide shot lol
