CyberPower has introduced its Gamer Dragon series; a set of three custom-built, high-def desktop workstations based on AMD’s new Phenom II X4 CPU.

The series includes the entry-level Gamer Dragon 8000, the mid-range Gamer Dragon 9000 and the high-end Gamer Dragon CrossFire X Ultimate. All three Gamer Dragon models include AMD Phenom II X4 CPU; AMD 790GX motherboard; 4GB PC6400 DDR2/800 memory; ATi Radeon video graphic cards; SATA-II hard drives and Blu-Ray or DVD optical drives, and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium edition.

The Gamer Dragon 8000 features AMD Phenom II X4 920 Quad-Core CPU, ATI Radeon HD 4850, 4GB DDR2 RAM and a 500GB SATA II hard drive, 20x DVD rewritable drive, 16X DVD-Rom drive. It is available for $805.

The Gamer Dragon 9000 offers Asetek Liquid Cooling System, 1 TB SATA II hard drive and a faster Radeon’s HD 4870 512MB video card and Blu-Ray player. The price of this configuration is $1139.

The pro-model Gamer Dragon CrossFire X Ultimate system features the AMD Phenom II X4 940 Quad-Core CPU. It also offers a pair of super fast ATI Radeon HD4870 2GB 16x video cards running CrossFire X mode. It includes Blu-Ray Player, 12in1 Flash Media Reader and NZXT Khaos black full tower case with dual 800-watt power supplies. The CrossFire X Ultimate system is priced at $2235.

A recent press release announced the upcoming arrival of A-Train 8 for all you locomative fans. The railroad simulation is due to be released on the 27th of February. It's got some stiff competition as that date also happens to be the worldwide release date for Killzone 2 - the hotly anticipated shooter from Sony. It's a tough call to make - maybe you should buy both.

EA has unveiled the details of three new Need for Speed games that will be published over the next 12 months. EA says the new games will provide ‘unique and customized experiences’ for the racing fans by establishing three independent series; simulation, action and arcade racing.

Need for Speed: SHIFT is designed to deliver a true driver’s experience, delivering an authentic and immersive driving experience. The game is developed by Slightly Mad Studios in collaboration with executive producer Michael Mann at Black Box and senior vice president Patrick Soderlund at EA Games Europe. It will be released on PS3, Xbox 360, PSP and PC in fall 2009.

The second game, currently known as Need for Speed: NITRO, will be released exclusively for the Wii and Nintendo DS. Developed by EA Montreal, the game features a variety of licensed cars which can be fully customized to let the game reflect the player’s taste and personality.

Need for Speed: World Online has been designed exclusively for the PC. Co-developed by Black Box and EA Singapore, this one is a free-to-play title giving fans access to licensed cars, parts and multiple game modes.

“We recognize racing videogame fans are very passionate and unique - they want customized gameplay experiences,” said Keith Munro, vice president of marketing, Need for Speed. “Each game provides a deep, engaging and rich racing experience. We’re giving players the option to choose the best racing title that suits their style of gameplay.”

Logitech has introduced the G13 advanced gameboard, a hybrid gaming keyboard designed to complement your keyboard and mouse.

With three game modes, 25 programmable keys and a programmable analog stick, the G13 gameboard offers up to 87 ways for you to control your game. You can set up custom button-profiles for each one of your favorite titles. It also allows you to create macros on the fly without having to pause your game.

The 160-by-43-pixel GamePanel LCD shows live game stats, system info and messages from other players. The backlit keys help you easily locate the right key in low-light conditions or lights-out play. The contoured design of G13 complements the natural shape of your hand and fingers, while the smooth, concave home-row keys make it easy to locate buttons by touch.

The G13 gameboard offers pre-configured settings for many popular games like World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, Call of Duty 4 and many others.

Logitech says the G13 advanced gameboard is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe for $79.99 this month.

Logitech has announced the Logitech Wireless Guitar Controller, Premiere Edition for the PS2/PS3 versions of the "Guitar Hero" - enabling gamers to play like a rock star.

The premiere edition of Guitar Controller features authentic materials including a wood neck, a rosewood fingerboard and metal frets. Logitech’s design also offers the one-piece contoured shape preferred by many of the world’s leading rock guitarists.

To minimize button noise, Logitech uses rubber dome technology on the fret board controls. The guitar controller also incorporates a New Touch-Sensitive Neck Slider, located so strumming is not always necessary to rack up the points. Additionally, the Neck Slider can be used in Guitar Hero World Tour’s new Music Studio to create an even wider away of sounds.

“There’s no better feeling than being the guy with the best instrument when you walk into your friend’s house to jam on Guitar Hero,” said Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech’s director of product marketing for gaming. “We designed this guitar for that experience.”

The Logitech Wireless Guitar Controller uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology to provide a range of up to 30 feet from the console. Just plug the USB receiver into the console and you’re ready to rock. The awaited sequel to the blockbuster Far Cry will hit  the shelves this week, which means that a little bit of reading about what it brings to the table is in order. This way, you will a least know if it's worth a purchase.

Among the several reviews and previews already published,  Trusted Reviews had  some good things to say about it: light changes through the course of the day, the map you are on is huge (like 50 km to explore), the change of scenery (to central Africa), the improved AI that will surely be needed in a FPS that claims to test your strategy skills, the use of fire and the environment as a whole; all those are points scored by this second instalment.

Maybe other articles are more comprehensive, but this one caught our attention because it's based on just some "stolen" moments of play and, to begin with, the author wasn't even inclined towards the game.

For the die hard fan of World of Warcraft, Computer gaming peripherals maker SteelSeries has introduced two new World of Warcraft-edition products, the MMO Gaming Mouse and Zboard Limited Edition (Wrath of the Lich King, or WotLK) keyboard.

According to SteelSeries, both are fully scalable to meet and exceed the requirements of even the most discerning World of Warcraft gamer. The mouse features macros up to 160 characters, 15 programmable buttons, 130 predefined commands for drag-and-drop macro creation, and an impressive illumination array. The MMO Gaming Mouse integrates seamlessly with World of Warcraft via a partnership with Blizzard, and allows users to use an intuitive in-game GUI for programming macros on the fly.

The SteelSeries Zboard Limited Edition keyboard allows for seven simultaneous keystrokes for anti-ghosting, and has one-touch macros for raiding and PvP gameplay. The keyboard connects to computers and acts as a USB extender via an internal hub with two USB ports.

SteelSeries worked with World of Warcraft creators Blizzard Entertainment on both products, which are officially licensed. Both products are available to pre-order from Steel Series webstore now, with shipping dates set for November 13. The mouse is priced at nearly $90, while the keyboard is priced at about $65.

Here comes a new video game in which players move characters through a headset that monitors their brain waves.

Japanese game publisher Square Enix and American brain-wave-helmet maker NeuroSky showed off their latest joint creation at the Tokyo Game Show Thursday - a game that the player controls with his own thoughts instead of a keyboard or joysticks.

The recently introduced MindSet, from NeuroSky, is capable of interfacing to a variety of gaming platforms, including PC, console and mobile. The headset registers the current state of relaxation or concentration of players, allowing them to perform a variety of actions within the game.

Called "Judecca," the PC game is a zombie-killing first-person-shooter, though it's really just a proof of concept and not something that's going to be available to consumers anytime soon.

Japan's Keio University put similar technology to use this year to let a paralysed man take a virtual stroll on the popular Second Life website, with the machine reading what he wanted to do with his immobile legs.

InstantAction for the Mac has gone online as an open beta for the moment, but Mac users can sign up and play Rokkitball, Marble Blast Online, Think Tanks and a new first-person shooter called Fallen Empire: Legions.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later. InstantAction runs on Intel Macs only, and requires Safari 3 or Firefox 2. Some games require an Nvidia GeForce 7 series, Radeon x1900 series or better.
