Transcend has introduced a new ultra-tiny USB flash drive, the JetFlash T5. The incredibly compact T5 Measures just 29.9mm x 15.3mm x 6.1mm (L x W x D), and only weighs a mere 2g.

Sony has introduced PRS-700, the third generation of eBook reader featuring a six inch touch screen display, expanded memory, and built-in LED reading light.

The newest Reader sports the dimensions of a slimmed down paperback book. The textured black casing and soft black cover contribute to its envy-inspiring design.

The interactive six-inch touch screen display allows booklovers to flip pages with the slide of a finger. Readers can also search terms within a document or book, create notes using the virtual keyboard and highlight text with the included stylus pen.

The high-resolution, high contrast electronic paper display technology provides a crisp text and graphics that are highly readable, even in bright sunlight. For times when ambient light is not available, Sony is the first to offer a built-in LED reading light.

It can hold 350 books in its internal memory, and more in a memory card. The new Reader will be available next month for about $400.

Kingston has announced the release of 2GHz HyperX DDR3 memory modules, the fastest-performing DDR3 available to date. Nokia has unveiled its touch-screen smartphone, new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. It offers all the music essentials, including a graphic equalizer, 8GB memory for up to 6000 tracks and support for all main digital music formats, and a 3.5mm jack. Built-in surround sound stereo speakers offer the industry's most powerful sound.

Taking advantage of touch screen technology, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic offers 'Media Bar', a handy drop down menu that provides direct access to music and entertainment, including favourite tracks, videos and photos.

Fujifilm has introduced four new Secure Digital (SD) cards, thus extending its flash memory products line.

The Secure Digital (SD) line includes 1GB and 2GB SD cards. The Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) family has 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB cards. Micro SD cards will include 1GB and 2GB in the standard capacity models, and 4GB and 8GB in the high capacity SDHC line.

The Fujifilm SD cards will come in brightly colored, customer-friendly packaging, specially designed with easy to understand graphics ensuring that customers choose the cards best suited for their needs and devices.

"We've found that there is a growing customer demand in the marketplace for higher capacity cards, as more users take video as well as higher-resolution photos with their digital cameras," said James Avato, vice president, Electronic Imaging Division, Fujifilm U.S.A., Inc. Sony Ericsson has launched PlayNow plus, offering users the ultimate mobile music experience. Users will be able to discover, download, play and recommend unlimited amounts of music wherever they are and whenever they like, directly over the mobile data network.

PlayNow plus will offer high-quality audio and access to the largest music catalogue of any unlimited download service. Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow plus music service guarantees ‘all-you-can-eat’ unlimited access to millions of music tracks.

Sony Ericsson will launch this service with a special edition of the W902 Walkman phone. Each Sony Ericsson W902 Walkman with PlayNow plus will be having 1000 of the recent most popular digital songs. Pre-loaded music offers are also planned for subsequent PlayNow plus-enabled phones.

The service is due to launch commercially with operator Telenor in Sweden in the fourth quarter of this year, with further roll-outs around the world beginning in 2009.

SanDisk now offers world’s largest removable storage capacity for mobile phones. It is now offering 16GB microSDHC and Memory Stick Micro (M2) mobile memory cards.

The fingernail-sized 16GB memory cards allow consumers to ‘wake up’ the many storage-intensive features offered by today’s portable handsets such as music and video playback, high-definition digital camera functions, gaming and GPS applications. Consumers can also use the 16GB microSDHC card in a multitude of other devices, including video cameras, GPS receivers or MP3 players with a microSD slots such as SanDisk’s Sansa players.

The 16GB microSDHC card is listing for $99.99 while the 16GB M2 lists for $129.99. The new 16GB capacity will be available at Best Buy Mobile stores in October and Verizon Wireless stores in November. SanDisk’s 16GB mobile memory cards come with a five-year limited warranty.

Samsung has recently introduced the Haptic 2 mobile phone. The second generation phone, launched in South Korea, has a large touch-screen display that also provides haptic feedback, information transmitted via the sense of touch, when using certain functions on the device.

The phone offers 3.2-inch screen, mobile banking as well as an internal DMB tuner to pick up over-the-air digital TV in Korea. It also brings a much sharper five-megapixel camera with flash and image stabilization as well as built-in storage of either 4GB or 16GB depending on the model.

The users can also personalize the vibrate mode and have access to more than three times the number of widgets on the home screen for quick access to weather and other info.

It will cost between 700,000 won and 800,000 won (US$700 to $800) in South Korea. There's no word from Samsung on when it might be available elsewhere.
