The Nokia 6300 has been voted Mobile Phone of the Year by What Mobile Awards and offers a modern suite of features for todayâ™s

Mobile phones are becoming more and more like digital photo cameras, and I'm not just talking about their technical specifications, but about their appearence. Take a look at the picture and try to see a phone there.
This is the G800 model from Samsung, wich features a 5 megapixels autofocus camera, xenon flash and a 3x optical zoom. Turning to the telephone aspect of the product, let's mention something like HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth and stereo speakers.
The other mobile Samsung is releasing soon, is the F700, which doesn't have the stereo speakers, a 3x optical zoom or Bluetooth, but it features a QWERTY keyboard and a 2.8" touchscreen. It shares the rest of the G800's other characteristics.

If you weren't on the line waiting to buy one, here's a short list of features which the iPhone has... or not:
- The mobile version of OS X or whatever it is the iPhone runs takes up 700MB of the device's capacity.
- There's no way to cut, copy, or paste text!
- No A2DP support. That, friends, is such a huge bummer right there.
- Sorry, music can't be used as a ringtone -- even if it's just a raw MP3. No additional ringtones will be sold at launch.
- On a PC the iPhone syncs with Outlook for calendars AND addresses! Nice.
- It supports Exchange in some capacity, according to Walt, but he doesn't exactly say how.
Didn't have enough to make up your mind? Go to Engadget and read the whole list, then.

Or at least, they are prepared to ship the 3 million units planned for sale in 2007.
"Worried about not being able to grab an iPhone when it launches on June 29? Dont be. According to BusinessWeeks sources, Apple plans to have a whopping 3 million iPhones for sale on launch day, dwarfing nearly all other consumer device launches in history."
With an entry price of $499, Apple still believes they will have sold 10 million units by the end of 2008 (40 million in 2009). A rather optimistic forecast considering that, by that time, you will be able to buy a much cheaper clone that doesn't force you to use their propietary iTunes format (which is far worse than Ogg).
I have never been much into mobile phones myself, but this one is so much more than a phone (closer to a PDA, actually), looks so cool and has such a big touchscreen...

Whatever takes your mood If you thought the Apple iPhone looked swish with it's touchscreen display, check out the design on the Blank phone by Chris Kujawski. The OLED touchscreen wraps around the entire face of the mobile phone and can take any assortment of skins that allow your mobile to come to life. Utilizing a flexible Organic Light Emitting
Diode (OLED) touchscreen, BLANK is
based on the principle that the device that
you carry with you most often should
reflect your personality as much as the
clothes you wear, car you drive or music
you listen to. Since those may evolve from
season to season, your phone needs to
accommodate that. By providing a 'blank slate' in the form of the OLED
touchscreen that wraps the entire front of
the phone, you are free to express yourself
in any number of ways vby
downloading static or even kinetic skins. |
