Or at least, they are prepared to ship the 3 million units planned for sale in 2007.
"Worried about not being able to grab an iPhone when it launches on June 29? Dont be. According to BusinessWeeks sources, Apple plans to have a whopping 3 million iPhones for sale on launch day, dwarfing nearly all other consumer device launches in history."
With an entry price of $499, Apple still believes they will have sold 10 million units by the end of 2008 (40 million in 2009). A rather optimistic forecast considering that, by that time, you will be able to buy a much cheaper clone that doesn't force you to use their propietary iTunes format (which is far worse than Ogg).
I have never been much into mobile phones myself, but this one is so much more than a phone (closer to a PDA, actually), looks so cool and has such a big touchscreen...
