Nokia has joined the 8-megapixel bandwagon with the launch of their new N86. Combining wide-angle Carl Zeiss optics and an 8 megapixel sensor, the phone has been specially designed for photography.
It offers variable aperture, fast mechanical shutter and dual LED camera flash for super sharp photos in both bright and low light conditions. It comes with 8 GB of internal memory that is exchangeable with 16 GB microSD card. It also offers bright OLED screen with scratch resistant glass, easy photo management, full sync capability with a PC and TV-out support for slide shows. The images can be geotagged and uploaded onto sites like Ovi Share or Flickr.
The N86 8MP will ship with the latest version of Nokia Maps and full Ovi integration, built-in compass, along with an integrated 3-months license for full voice and pedestrian navigation.
"People demand mobile cameras that take excellent pictures in all light conditions," says Juha-Pekka Sipponen, Director, Nokia Nseries. "That's why the aperture of the Nokia N86 8MP is comparable to that of a high-quality, stand-alone digital camera.”
Nokia plans to ship N86 8MP in the second quarter of 2009 for about EUR 375.
