Samsung expanded their popular Ultra series  by unveiling 3 new handsets at the ITU Telecom World 2006, Hong Kong. This time the new additions are targeted specifically into three distinctive usage categories. The new handsets are called Ultra Video (SGH-F500), Ultra Music (SGH-F300) and Ultra Messaging (i600).

The Samsung Ultra Music F300 is a complete music player with superb sound quality. It is equipped with digital power amp offering dedicated music user interface that makes it easy to navigate through the song list. It has a stereo FM radio and a Quick PC Sync allowing users to create a music library and play lists.

The Ultra Video, like the Ultra Music, has got dual faces - one side is a phone while the other contains a large screen and intuitive controls for multimedia. It has a unique swivel design for multimedia content. The screen swivels away from the controls to adjust the viewing angle or form a stand to place the device down.

The Ultra Messaging is the first smartphone that runs on the HSDPA network, allowing for faster data transfer speeds. It is also the first smartphone to support Web applications such as podcasting RSS Feeder. The device offers high-speed connectivity through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR allowing faster connections for faster communications.

Ultra Video SGH-F500

The Samsung Ultra Video F500 is said to be the ultimate personal multimedia device. It is the first phone to support the DivX codec, allowing users to view a large array of video content including MPEG-4, H.264, WMV and AVI files. It also has a PMP function with wide 2.4" screen as well as a 2 MP camera. The Ultra Video has a smart design to go with its cutting-edge features.

The Ultra Video, has got dual faces - one side is a phone while the other contains a large screen and intuitive controls for multimedia. It has a unique swivel design for multimedia content. The screen swivels away from the controls to adjust the viewing angle or form a stand to place the device down. It has an internal memory of 400 MB and the memory is expandable up to 2 GB using the microSD card. With 2 GB of memory, it enables the user to view about 2 movies (each about two hours long).

The company said the Ultra Music still has all the extra features consumers have come to expect, including a 2 MP camera, long-lasting battery life and Bluetooth. The Ultra Music, like the Ultra Video, has got dual faces, which is unique and stylish. On one side is a large, clear screen with a sweep touch key that makes navigation very intuitive. On the other side is the fully functional phone that can be used while listening to music.

Ultra Messaging i600

The Ultra Messaging is the first smartphone that runs on the HSDPA network, allowing for faster data transfer speeds. It is also the first smartphone to support Web applications such as podcasting RSS Feeder. The device offers high-speed connectivity through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR allowing faster connections for faster communications. All of these features are packed into a slim design, also including a MP3 player and built-in voice recognition. Samsung said the Ultra Messaging is a true messaging device, it is equipped with a QWERTY keypad with wheel key, designed for composing messages or emails.
