Sony recently unveiled the newest in do it all phones, the Mylo. Mylo actually stands for “My life online” and it lives up to its name. The Mylo is created for people whose primary form of communication is messaging. The oval shaped device sports a 2.4 inch color LCD with a slide out QWERTY keyboard for lightning fast thumb typing on Aim, Yahoo, Google and Skype messaging services.
You can sync this device with 10 different email accounts and receive alerts. It has a built in 802.11 wifi adapter and the ability to view ordinary webpages. There is 1 GB of flash memory built into this communicator with the ability to play mp3’s, wma files, Atrac. Video files are viewable as long as they’re MPEG-4 and it has an expandable memory stick slot. The interface is well designed, similar to a pda with a windows xp platform, with mylo styled icons. You can also beam music, photos and just about anything in between mylo’s within 300 feet. But wait, this is not a cell phone! All in all it’s a great device which would impress many techno-files but since it can only make internet phone calls, the Mylo may deter some users who really want the all in one experience or those who don’t have the $300.00 to drop.
