Microsoft recently showcased its standalone XBOX 360 HD DVD player. Unlike Sony, who are including a blu-ray drive as standard on it's upcoming PS3 console, Microsoft chooses to offer this as an option to those who wish to pursue it.   

Sources say that the player will retail at the $200 mark. Considering that set-top HD DVD players cost upwards of $420 and blu-ray players cost over $850, this new player is a relatively cheap and straightforward upgrade to those who already own an XBOX 360.
