| Microsoft Releases IE7 |

Microsoft has released the version 7 of Internet Explorer, five years after its last full version update. At its core, IE7 basically has all those things that made Firefox popular. Tabbed browsing lets you keep numerous webpages open in the same browser window, and in addition to the abilities of Firefox, IE7 features a faster way to view all of your tabs in a thumbnail format, which is definitely a neat feature. Plenty of new security features is a main focus of IE7. The new Internet Explorer has a phishing filter to help you determine when a site isn't what it pretends to be. It also disables most ActiveX plugins, allowing only those that are known to be safe. These security features and a whole lot more make IE7 a lot safer than IE6 (it remains to be seen how it compares to Firefox). IE7 is available to anyone running a Windows XP PC; support for other operating systems will be provided in the future. Download IE7 on Microsoft's website.
