"Panasonic today has announced it will formally enter the high-margin digital SLR camera market. For years, the company manufactured enthusiast-level cameras in the form of the popular Lumix series. To extend that family even further, Panasonic is introducing the new Lumix DMC-L1, its first digital SLR. The new camera will be introduced at a price of $1,999 and ship with a Leica D Vario-Elmarit lens 14-50mm/f2.8-3.5 lens" This new camera sports a unique dust reduction system that could be the key to the long standing problem of dust sticking to the sensor of digital SLR cameras. Panasonic claims to have solved this problem with a "Supersonic Wave Filter system" which uses supersonic vibration (mmmm....nice!!) to shake of any dust sticking to the sensor.
