Say goodbye to MSN Messenger. Microsoft's upcoming version of the software has been rebranded, refeatured, and is set to be your one stop software for well, almost everything.

Microsoft's latest version of their messenger software will hopefully not be overwhelming with their new features. It is in public beta currently, and has many of the popular features that are offered both by other messenger programs, and other types of software completely. Like other versions of Messenger, the software is free of charge, and will carry your contact information and other personal settings for earlier versions along with it.

One really neat feature that they have lined up is Sharing Folders. What this does is allow for easy file sharing by allowing you to see a certain folder of one of your friends. There are security features that prevent this from being used maliciously, as it simply copies the files, it doesn't alter them.

Another fun feature is using VOIP features within the software to call people who are using Verizon Web Calling.

The beta is available at http://join.msn.com/messengerWL/wl_messenger, however you need to be using Internet Explorer to be able to download it. How..quaint.
