Slingbox puts TV on your laptop

Slingbox

“Couch potato” and “on the go”. These two terms were once considered to be an oxymoron. Now, a network add on from a new company called Sling Media allows anyone to take their T.V., DVD player, satellite TV receiver or PVR.

The slingbox redirects live and recorded TV to anywhere a broadband connection is available. It comes ready to hook up to your home router, with soft ware to install on your notebook. Later in the year clients for PDAs and third generation cell phones will be available. This slingbox has S Video, analog cable and Ethernet inputs and aside from being great to watch the new family guy episode when you’re delayed in the airport, due to the quality it is essentially a substitute for streaming videos. Available for $249 with no service fees.
