ASRock AM2XLI-eSATA2 PCIe SLI AMD Athlon 64 Socket AM2 Motherboard Review

"After more than 20 different AMD Socket 939 and Socket 754 Motherboard Reviews andthe recently published AM2 Upgrade report, it's time to test more AMD Socket AM2 boards. To compare all Socket 939, 754 and Socket AM2 motherboards a CPU with the same frequeny was used and just the memory modules were changed to the new 240-pin DDR2 memory. The ASRock AM2XLI-eSATA2 test report shows if this board is good overclockable and if it offers a wide range of features in spite of the low price. In addition, a direct comparison is available for all AMD Athlon 64 Reviews."

Compro VideoMate TV Tuners – T100 Digital and U500 DVB-T

"The T100 built up a channel list OK the first time ComproDTV2 ran, and we were able to surf between all channels without a problem. Opening all the subwindows using PIP and a different channel for each window caused some dramas, however. With each subwindow opened, performance within each window dropped substantially. The Compro website does state that for each window displayed, extra CPU power is needed, but the system we used should have been fine...possibly you need a VERY strong signal if you’re going down this path, or better signal caching."

Icemat Siberia In:Ear Headset

"The Siberia In:Ear Headset take my expectations for earbud style headphones to a whole new level thanks to the sound quality, comfort level, and noise blocking capabilities. They work well for audio playback, and adding the microphone creates a convenient way to communicate over IP telephones or in online games."

Intel P965 Shootout Part 2 – Gigabyte, ABIT and Biostar

"The Intel P965 chipset has really impressed us in the fact that it may be classed as the “mainstream chipset” compared to the older and more expensive 975X chipset but its features and performance surpass the enthusiast 975X chipset with DDR2-800 memory support, high FSB overclocking potential and now with Crossfire support, its hard to consider a 975X chipset.

We had already planned to do this second part roundup but waiting for all of the motherboards to come into our labs was a bit of a push back affair. After nearly two months of waiting we now have four more boards to put on our chopping blocks – two from Gigabyte, one from ABIT and one from Biostar."

Noctua Cooling Solutions

“Noctua has definitely made an impression with me! The superb build quality that goes into these different products is amazing. The toughness feel that I felt with the NF-S12 series fans is something you just have to experience to understand. The leads on these fans are extraordinary. I was able to run the back exhaust fan from down the back and along the bottom of the motherboard to reach the front intake fan header…”

Sapphire X1950Pro (LostCircuits)

"So: what card will offer functional value to the enthusiast who has a need for speed, but doesn’t have a spare car payment available as disposable income? Enter ATi with the X1950 Pro.

The new GPU produces mixed reactions. On one hand, “Pro” here does not mean, for example, “9700 Pro”. And unlike the X1900 GT it replaces, the new Pro does not share the screaming R580+ core with the X1950 XT or XTX. Instead, we have the newly released RV570, in an 8-vertex/36-pixel shader configuration and a reduction in thread dispatch capability.

Then again, the deposed X1900 GT was the product of selective feature disabling, and offered nearly the same specs. Think of the RV570 as more of a middle-end Renaissance: DirectX 9 support is in full bloom, visual goodies such as 16x anisotropic filtering and 6x antialiasing neatly guild the lily, and CrossFire has finally risen out of the Dongle Ages. The processing core may contain yesterday’s high-end technology, but our first impression is that the paint is shiny and the odometer shows a low reading."

Thermaltake Soprano VX Computer Case Review @ Tweaknews.net

"The Thermaltake Soprano VX is a computer chassis with some style and panache that some people may find appealing. Personally, I like the look of the case. I like the front panel I/O treatment, too. While the finish doesn't quite live up to the hype, it's not bad either."

Thermaltake Toughpower 750W Modular Power Supply @ ThinkComputers.org

“As hardware manufactures add more and more components to PCs such as multi-core processors, multiple video cards, Physics processors, large RAID arrays, etc the need for a strong power supply becomes more and more important. Now a day's a 500 watt power supply seems to be just enough to squeak by when you reach the midrange-higher end. Thermaltake has answered the call of many enthusiasts with the Toughpower 750w which provides quad +12V rails, Active Power Factor Correction and a high efficiency of up to 85%, and on top of all that it is a modular Power Supply so it won't clutter up the inside of your case.”

Zalman CNPS7700-Cu LED Heatsink Reviewed at FrostyTech

"The CNPS7700-CU LED is Zalman's famed 'flower' heatsink technology at its best, and it's a method of manufacturing that offers very direct thermal pathways between the cooling fins and heat source. Each individual copper fin is in direct contact with the CPU, and that dramatically reduces elements of thermal resistance from entering into the equation. Coupled with a large slow moving fan, the Zalman CNPS7700-Cu LED uses its sheer amount of surface area, and large volume of air, to cool itself quietly above all else."
