Incorporating NVIDIA's new 680i chipset and supporting Intel's Quad-Core Processor, the Striker Extreme is also 1,333MHz FSB ready. Designed by and for gamers and overclockers, the ASUS Striker Exteme brings innovative overclocking features to the already monstrously powerful 680i and Core 2 Duo platform. Features include

LCD Poster - gives you a digital readout of exactly what's gone wrong with that latest tweak; no more searching through hundreds of codes trying to find out what went wrong.

EL I/O and Onboard LED - lights up your backplate and main board for easy access and easy DIY fixes.

Onboard switches - no more hassle to turn your system on or off, reset the board or clear the CMOS - all can now be done with a simple button press.

SupremeFX - 24 bit/192kHz sampling on all channels give you crystal clear powerful sounds whether through headphones or a full 7.1 surround sound setup. The bundled array microphone can also cancel out external noise like computer fans and air conditioning system for superior quality audio streams.

Of course, no amount of extras can surpass the ASUS world renowned R&D team and their stamp is clearly seen with own unique take on a Multi Core, 680i based motherboard, completely fanless cooling for the whole motherboard - teamed up with 2 ASUS EN8800GTX's, the Stryker Extreme would be well on it's way to staking a claim for one of the fastest bases for a consumer system yet released. A system we hope to bring you very soon!!!

More details after the click.

As the newest member of the popular Republic of Gamers (ROG) series, the nForce 680i SLI-based Striker Extreme supports Intel Quad-Core Processor and Nvidia's Quad-SLI technology, and is ready for the new 1,333MHz FSB specification. Made for gamers and overclockers, the ASUS motherboard provides the power needed for smooth video and extreme performance.

LCD Poster - Easy System Tweaking with Style

LCD Poster is an excellent feature for system tuning and upgrades. Most hardcore users and engineers install a debug card, which displays a two-digit code that enables them to recognize which part of the system is responsible for hanging the system during boot-up.

LCD Poster, located at the back I/O, displays the names of each boot-process instead of using codes. When system hangs due to faulty connection or configuration, the LCD Poster will freeze on the displayed process name that caused the hang up, allowing users to know exactly what needs to be fixed.

EL I/O and Onboard LED - Easy connection even in the dark

With LAN parties and e-sport tournaments growing in popularity, many gamers and overclockers are finding out that assembling and fine-tuning their computers without much light is quite a hassle.

The Striker Extreme incorporates EL I/O, which simplifies connecting devices by lighting up the back I/O panel for convenient connection in dark environments, meaning no more jamming devices into the wrong connectors. Onboard LED offers strategically placed LEDs to provide illumination to motherboard labels. Users can turn on the LEDs from a switch on the back I/O. This switch also cuts all other circuits on the motherboard except the LEDs to ensure safety during system tweaking. Besides allowing easy DIY, the two features also make a system look like the ultimate gaming rig.

Onboard Switch - Turn system on/off, reset and clear CMOS with 1 push of a button

A power user typically builds a system outside of the case. Hence, he needs to short the front panel pins to power up or restart the system, and switch jumpers and pop the battery to clear CMOS. With the Striker Extreme, doing all of that is now a simple case of pushing a button.

SupremeFX - Great Sounds

The SupremeFX audio card, with 24 bit/192kHz sampling in all surround channels, provides high-quality audio whether it's through headphones or 7.1 surround sound speakers. The bundled array microphone, which comes with background noise filter that detects repetitive and stationary noises (non-voice signals) like computer fans and air conditioners, then eliminates them in the incoming audio stream while recording.

Bundle 3D Games, 3DMark® 06 Advanced Edition, Kaspersky® Anti-Virus

UbiSoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter supports the advanced physics effects and is currently one of the most popular games available that really push your gaming hardware.

3DMark is the most popular and authoritative 3D benchmark application used by professionals. 3DMark06 is the latest version in the popular 3DMark series, including advanced SM2.0 and HDR/SM3.0 Shader graphics tests and now including single, multiple core and multiple processor CPU tests.

Kaspersky® Anti-Virus Personal offers premium antivirus protection for individual users and home offices. It is based on advanced antivirus technologies.
