| Tyan Tomcat h1000S AM2 Motherboard Review |
![]() Who says good things don't come in small packages. Well the UC Babes for starters. The Tyan Tomcat h1000S (S3950) motherboard might just be the exception to the rule. Featuring support for a single AMD "AM2" socket processor and based on the Broadcom® HT-1000 chipset, the S3950 also provides PCI-X and PCI card support, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, SATA RAID (0, 1, 5, 10), remote management options with IPMI 2.0, all in an ATX form factor. The Tyan Tomcat h1000s Motherboard has lots of excellent features, is stable, and performs very well. This motherboard is based on the socket Broadcom HT-1000 chipset and supports the AMD AM2 and AM2 Opteron 1000 series processors. It accepts up to 8GB of ECC or NON-ECC UNBUFFERED DDR2 memory. It's not an overclocker's motherboard though. Rather, it's intended for the non-tweakers, a workstation, or server environment.
