Q. You design and run your own website - www.asiacarrera.com.
How did you go about bridging the gap between mega adult film star to
successful webmistress?
All it took was being an adult film star with the initiative to build a
website of my own before the rest of the industry caught on to the whole
internet thing. The combination of being one of the first ones online,
plus one of the VERY few doing it all by myself, was all the gimmick I needed.
I never really had to become a "webmistress extraordinaire" with all
the latest technological bells and whistles on my site, because my fans were
only coming by to see pics of me, to read my latest bulletins, or just to get
to know me better - so I laid it all out there for 'em, plain and simple!
And they liked it that way! : )
Q. Do you have any advice or tips for anybody wanting to setup and
run a successfull website?
K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple, Stupid! People want to find what they're
looking for with a minimum of hassle, so no pop-ups and banner ads cluttering
the site, no mandatory downloads before people can view the pics or vid clips,
and most people HATE to read, so keep the text minimal, witty, and to the
point!
Q. Do you edit all your own pictures and graphics and write your own
HTML code? Care to recommend any software applications?
Yes I edit all my pictures myself, and I make all my own graphics myself
also. I do everything in Photoshop, and I am a Photoshop wizard, if I do
say so myself! : ) (I reviewed Photoshop 7 for MaximumPC magazine
last April, not as a celebrity or anything, just hired as a regular
reviewer) I also write my own HTML (and yeah it's a little sloppy, so
don't look at it LOL!!) so I can't recommend an HTML program because I do my HTML
in notepad. <--- yes, I am a geek.
Q. How about favourite websites - any essential surfing destinations
or sites that inspire you?
No, I don't really have the time to just surf around idly, although I wish I
did. I keep my website as my homepage on Netscape, and CNN.com as my
homepage on Internet Explorer.
Q. Now you have a reputation as a bit of a l33ter frag babe with an
itchy trigger finger for the Unreal Tournament series. What's your
favourite weapon and do you have any tips or favourite tactics you like to use
in game?
I like the rocket launcher. Only thing I hate about rockets is when I
miscount while loading up rockets, and they let go when I'm facing the
wall LOL!! I like playing Capture the Flag, but I swap from defense
to offense depending on what the team needs. I like smaller maps where I
can be everywhere at once!
Q. Are there any new games you are looking forward to playing -
HalfLife 2, Doom 3? Anything tickle your fancy?
Nope, I just play UT - no time to learn new games!
Q. LAN Parties tend to be a male dominated with prize money at some
events reaching up to a million dollars. Why do you think girls
haven't become more involved in the sport? What do guys say when
they find out they have just been fragged by Asia
Carrera?
Girls aren't taught to play with guns, they're taught to play with
Barbies. However I never had a Barbie doll as a kid, and my nickname in
high school was "Butch", so I'm perfectly comfortable running
aroundwith a Redeemer in my grubby paws. Guys might not like the idea of
getting beat by a girl initially, but when they see me in there fragging
every day, and usually finishing in the top 3 every game, then they don't take
it personally if I whup their butt.
