MaXit's off again on a quest to make a water cooled high powered PC with the help of Cooler Master and Coolercases.co.uk. Read on and be prepared - this one's gonna make a big splash!
Well
i'm off again on a quest to make another water cooled
Wavemaster. I opted for the black this time
round which will make a nice contrast to the previous polished
silver one..........so read on and see if it makes a splash!
Here a list of parts i will be using:-
Wavemaster (Black)
Asus SK8V (Socket 940)
AMD Athlon FX53
Tagan 480watt PSU
2x 512mb OCZ PC3500 EL-DDR ECC (Registered)
2x Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB in Stripe Raid Zero
Hercules 9800XT (to be replaced with a Gainward 6800 Ultra Cool FX)
Sony DWU-18A 8x DVD±RW ReWriter (Black)
Sony DDU1612 DVD-ROM
Water Cooling:-
TDX Athlon64
Maze4 Chipset
Maze4 GPU (To be replaced with Cool FX)
Laing D4 12volt Pump
Thermochill 120.1 Rad
Papst Alu 120mm Fan on Vantec Rheobus
Dual Floppy Bay-Res
Tygon Hose
Ultimate power was the order of the day and I eventually settled on the Athlon FX53 for the heart of the beast. Not content at stock speeds I decided to employ the use of a little watercooling magic courteousy of Danger Den to tame this bad boy. After careful planning of the location of all the parts it was time to start modding!!!
OK, first off was to mark and cut the hole in the top of the case for the radiator. As you can see this is hindered by a cut out already made by Coolermaster for the flip up USB ports. Unfortunately these are just too close to the PSU cage slung below for the radiator to fit. I had to move the new hole slightly forward so the radiator would miss the cage while making sure the grill would cover any signs of the previous hole.
The USB flip up........a standard feature on a Wavemaster.

That'll have to go to make way for the rad!
