Price - £169.95 The Galacticos Of Mobile PhonesWith every new line or index of Sony Ericsson phones there is always at least one that provides the most highly sought after cell phone accessories. The K750i is that very phone and in keeping with this ethos it features some of the most impressive mobile functions available. Not least of these functions is the powerful 2 megapixel camera and the impressive MP3 player. The Sony Ericsson has also been updated to ensure that the hardware and the software can cope with these added functions. ![]() Image Isn't EverythingFirst off, let's talk about the design. In all honesty, the design isn't overwhelmingly brilliant. Probably the most notable feature is that it's tiny when you consider the things it can do. A mere 4 inches long and weighing only 99 grams it will easily and comfortably fit into your shirt pocket when used as an MP3 player or your trouser pocket when you're carrying it round with you. The screen, in keeping with previous Sony Ericsson phones, displays an impressive although not ground breaking 262,000 colours giving a crisp display. Perhaps the only other surprise with the look of the phone is the incredibly sensitive joystick. Initially you will be fumbling around trying not to overdo the joystick controls but it shouldn't take you too long to get used to. Camera And MemoryThe 2 megapixel camera features an automatic focus, night time function and also a video recorder which is actually quite uncommon even in phones with such an impressive onboard camera. The phone itself has 38MB of onboard memory, of which roughly 30MB will be available for your use but a 64MB memory card is also included with the phone giving it a more than credible 102MB of memory without having to buy any new memory cards. If you do decide you need more memory, 2GB memory cards are available should you need this much storage. VideoDJBecause the phone features an MP3 player as well the capability to take photos and capture video footage, Sony Ericsson has included VideoDJ software. This allows you to edit music and include pictures with your music file. You can either store this for your own personal satisfaction or send it via an MMS message. There is also a somewhat useless and difficult to master freehand drawing tool. Maybe you can find a use for this, and if you do then that's more than I managed. ![]() MP3 PlayerThe MP3 player is actually a very good standalone MP3 presuming you have a memory card installed in your phone. The quality is very good and with some of the larger memory cards that are available you can store more than enough music. The graphic equaliser settings actually make a difference to the tone of the music, as well, which is extremely rare for a lot of smaller MP£ players, never mind mobile phones. Technical Details
The Bottom LineSony Ericsson has done it again by including the most desirable functions on their latest handset, and ensuring that the quality of these functions is exceptionally good. The 2-megapixel camera is easy to use and takes really good quality pictures as well as video clips. The MP3 player is, again, very good and by using an additional memory card you virtually have the equivalent of a standalone MP3 player. The K750i is not only a phone for the seasoned technophile but also for the multimedia freaks among us. Well worth the money and definitely more than just a phone.Pros
